Wow!! I think I hit a nerve by trying to be positive toward you Allen and for that I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I am offending anyone as that is totally not my intention. I have come to many shows and brought SEVERAL girlfriends that have never seen the band and each time we are all into your sexiness (sorry, I think everyone else in the band moves well too) while on stage. I totally love the music and everyone on stage is onviously VERY talented and my comments regarding you singing in no way reflected that I thought they were not good. I have been watching local bands for a long time and follow one in particular and they have never switched out the lead singer. So, maybe I'm just not used to this type of thing. Anyway, this is more drama then I'm used to - I'll sign off for now. Hey Bobby, I'm a dominatrix so anytime you want me to teach you a lesson - let me know!!

Ok, everyone take a step back and chillllllll. First of all, thank you Lisa for being a BIG supporter of me and GBF! I appreciate your candid opinion and I promise if your not too frustrated, we'll make it up to you if you make it out to the next show. I rarely miss the Gig's, but as Bobby V mentioned like so many other things in life, sometimes it can't be helped. Bobby V makes a good point, except for the "good but not great" comment.....(sorry Bobby-Ha)but you have to respect his opinion and I do. Bobby V and been in the music scene longer than I and he has seen some talented cats over the years and they all have something unique to offer. I know being the lead singer puts me in a different light, but I can't sound good without the rest of the fella's helping me sound good and adding their own unique talent to the show.- LOL

It's to bad that you feel ripped off when Allen is not singing. But I've been following GBF for a while and when I see a different singer I appreciate the differences that that other singer brings to the table. Allen is not the end all of singers. He's good but not great. Alot of women that see Allen tend to listen with there eyes and not there ears. Bringing in replacements is part of being a local working band. And I'm sure musicians have a life besides playing and can't make every performance there is. So maybe try to be a little bit more understanding when Allen is not there. Okay, I've done this before on this guestbook but thought it was important enough to do again!! Siz of us girlfriends plan a night of to go watch the band and ALLEN singing. Go early, pay cover, and get good table right up front and WHAM!!! Different lead singer takes stage. Seriously!!! What a bummer. I know it's about the music and all but it's also about the showmanship and Allen (sorry guys) is a huge reason why we go watch. Needless to say this same scenario has happened several times and I will not be following the band any more. SORRY!! Cause, we really do love the music - just love watching Allen as well.
I would recommend posting on the web site or adding to your e-mails that Allen will not be the front man - at least that would give people the option of attending. I know that would maybe make me change my mind.

We noticed from several posts that Allen has been missing from some shows lately. Not that he is the ONLY reason to come, but we added one member to our group and have talked up both the band and the singer. We are hoping he will be in Stillwater on May 11th, cuz when the girls with the miniature plastic man hit the dance floor again, we hope to hear his silky vocals...and enjoy the view!

Saturday Night
Six co-workers got together for a overnight away in Downtown St. Paul. We saw a listing in City Pages for live music and took a cab over to see you play. Wow! is all we could say. The brass, the percussion, the guitars and the vocals were hot! We range in age from 27 to 46 and you had all 6 of us out dancing all night long-along with our 8 inch tall plastic man that served as our date, but that is a different story. We will definitely make the trip back up from the Northfield area to catch you again, and will be spreading the news to all we know to check you out if they can. You just got six new fans!

Final Four Weekend
I was in town from Pittsburgh for the Final Four and imagine my surprise when I walked into this small club--Bunker's-- and I'm looking up at a ten piece funk band. I didn't think they existed anymore. As a fan of seventies R and B and funk, my mouth dropped when your band began rocking the house. I go to the Final Four every year, but this was, by far, the best post-game party happening that I've been to.
